Weekend at Nana and Papa's
This last weekend we went to my family's house. For Tabitha's high school graduation. And a family get-together, a camp out with fifty 'close' friends who spent the night afterwards, and to help clear out Grandma's house and walk through it for the very very last time ever.
Happy, sad. A lot of moments and emotions packed into a few hours. But Friday evening before the whirlwind began was a lull, - a kind of relaxed time when I was able to visit, and could walk around the yard and see siblings who live at home, or far away, nephews and nieces, Mom and Dad just 'living' together. It was very nice. Here are some of those quiet moments I love.
Couldn't resist a shot of the family garden, - gorgeous and lush as always thanks mostly to Noah, and his hard work.
I smiled when he drove in after work, then put on his ipod and started working again. Then Tabitha came out and visited with him for a while as he weeded and weeded and weeded.
Though we have a baby swing, we haven't hung it yet, and Felicity was THRILLED by Nana's. She LOVED her Aunty Esther pushing her, and making faces. :)
You can almost hear her shrieks of joy!
"MOM- where has this BEEN all my life!!?"
"I'm gonna get you!" By the way, - is she not the most gorgeous little pregnant lady ever? :)
There is just something about my grown siblings and my children's love of each other that simply melts my heart and blesses me.
Micah plays soccer with Justice and Silas.
Phoebe gets to hold Sarah!
I have quit a few adorable pictures of Philip who really wasn't supposed to be walking in the puddle, - but I couldn't help watch instead of scold! :)
The 'girls' checking on all their 'boys'. :) Scott couldn't be there Friday night because of work. :(
Papa and Nana have some favorite children's books, and Paul and Marcus decided to read them outside. As posed as this picture looks, - it wasn't at all, - just very precious!
Meanwhile Moses and Micah and Charity help poor Andrew who was trying to work on our RV's ac that decided to have issues.
Lydia and Mom going over some of the truck load of things I brought up to return, - etc. It is getting downright ridiculous how much stuff we exchange at every visit. Ahh well!! :)
Will making 'pizza'.
Micah gets his turn with Sarah. :)
Philip takes a drink. :)
Seth shows up to uhhchhummm... 'HELP'. :)
A perfect place to sit on a lovely evening.
Papa sees the boys reading and decides to get in on the fun. Of course, - this just attracts a bigger audience!
I believe this is Papa's interpretation of a bear voice. Philip looks intense.
The lovely Elizabeth who is usually documenting....
For a very full weekend, these don't even cover the 'important' parts. I was so busy during the rest to even get pictures of Tabitha's graduation, the camp out, etc. And yet, - it is the little moments like this that hold a very special place in my heart, - that make the memories and build relationships. I love my family.
